Monday 16th of June 2008 - New dates and new instruments

We've set the dates for our next bout of shows. From the 24th to the 28th of september we hope to be playing every night. Our friends from Caradamon will be joining us on tour.

In other news Douwe has received his customized Mayones Be bass. It's living up to his expectations wonderfully. It looks and sounds great.

Tuesday 22nd of January 2008 - Other projects

Please note that the date and location for Dennis' clinic in Wolvega have changed. He's now scheduled for the 19th of February at the Linde College in Wolvega.

Meanwhile, Douwe has joined local rock/metal four-piece Man Made Madness to keep himself busy.

Sunday 13th of January, 2008 - Dates at last

The Dates page has finally been updated. We now have two shows confirmed for our February micro tour. We're still looking to fill other dates.

In addition to the Saturnine shows, Dennis will also be doing a clinic at the Centrum Voor De Kunsten A7 in Wolvega on February 20th. The band probably won't be performing here, just Dennis.

Monday 10th of December, 2007 - Saturnine resurrection

After a long period off silence, The Saturnine is happy to announce their return to the fray. With several members spending most of their time to other projects in the last couple of months (Bumblefoot, Stream of Passion, Fuelblooded), 2008 will see the band back on stage and ready to show everyone that their blend of melancholic rock is hard to ignore. At the end of February 2008 The Saturnine will play approx. 4 shows in The Netherlands. The first show has been confirmed for the 22nd of February. On that day the band will support their friends Kingfisher Sky in the 013 in Tilburg.

Everything points into the right direction and these shows promise to become something really special. With the biggest surprise being the return of vocalist Sander v/d Thillart to the line-up. Sander will be taking over the duties from New York-based vocalist Matty Pritchard. Eric said: "The return of Sander to the line-up makes us very, very happy. It's like the return of the prodigal son. :) We genuinely missed him those times he wasn't with us. As a friend, and also as a vocalist."

New Mayones custom for Eric

Back in the spring of 2006 Eric signed an endorsement deal with Polish Guitar builders MAYONES, resulting in the creation of Eric's number 1 axe - the Wine-red Regius 6 string with a hipshot D-tuner and a Fernandes Sustainer. Recently Mayones and Eric came to a new agreement, and a brand-new MAYONES masterpiece is being build. This 7 stringed Setius will also have the almost custom dark red colour, together with some blistering EMG 707 pick-ups and the Saturn-sign at the 12th fret. We'll keep you up to date about the process and hopefully the new addition to Eric's guitar-arsenal will arrive in time for the shows in February.

Wednesday 27th of June, 2007 - Eric joins the ranks of Stream of Passion

Eric Hazebroek has joined the Dutch/Mexican gothic metal band Stream of Passion as their new guitar player. The band is best known for the fact that it was started by Ayreon mastermind Arjen Lucassen. Arjen left the band recently, together with the keyboard player and lead guitarist. Eric will be fulfilling the spot that has been left vacant by Arjen.
He also made clear that though he's excited about taking this new challenge he will definitely not leave The Saturnine or decide to disband the band. For further information: www.streamofpassion.com

Quick update: the Sound page is back online with samples from Within Without and The Winter Years. Lyrics for the new ep and reviews for the previous one should follow shortly. As well as profiles for each band member.

Monday 26th of March, 2007 - The new website unleashed

Dear friends, we're glad to finally display our refurbished and restyled website. In the upcoming weeks we shall add and add content for your viewing pleasure. New photographs, new merchandise, new sounds, new everything. Roam around and let us know what you think! We're also glad to be able to announce that the release of The Saturnine's 2nd EP "the Winter Years" is imminent. With an expected release date of the 10th of April we are preparing to scatter the latest musical exploration across the globe to as many magazines, venues and record labels as possible. Know one we might have missed? Don't hesitate to contact us.

For those who haven't followed the change of events that have occured in the first months of 2007, here's a small update. The Saturnine exists of Matty Pritchard (vox), Eric Hazebroek (guitars), Danny Tunker (guitars), Douwe de Wilde (bass) and Dennis Leeflang (drums). Some names might be familiar, others are still unknown. But not for long... The band entered the Excess Studio in December 2006 to record a brand new 4 track EP called "the Winter Years". January 19th saw the final show with the old line-up, consisting of Claudia de Graaf (vox), Eric Hazebroek (guitars), Edo van der Kolk (guitars), Douwe de Wilde (bass) and Ciro Palma (drums). Eric and Douwe want to thank Claudia, Ciro and especially Edo for all their effort, time, talent and inspiration. We are in your debt.
